Powder blue replacement?

Well I guess the time has come to get rid of my powder blue. He become way to aggressive. He's trying to kill my yellow tang! He even killed two cleaner wrasses that I tried to put in the tank. I have a 250g tank. So far I have 6 chromis, four clowns, a yellow tang, blue hippo, a virmini tang, and a sand sifting goby. All seem to get along except the powder blue. He seems to be out of control. I hate to get rid of him but I can't deal with him. I love his beautiful blue color. What are any recommend fish to add. Something a bright and flashy but not mean.

With a tank that size, you've got lots of options. Personally I'd make it another tang or better yet a few cool wrasses would be awesome. Always out and about and prettier than most fish.

Powder blues do become mean, it's crazy how beastly a fish that some people consider delicate can become. With your size tank anything is pretty much available, not sure what sort of coral you have but a large angel would be nice but they need sps only tanks.

I have a good mix of corals so angels are out of the question as much as I would love to have them.

If you like angelfish, take a look at the Japanese Swallowtail Angelfish. They are totally reef safe and get to be 7". I have a male/female pair and they are perfect citizens in my mixed reef. They also grow streamers on their tails. Bella Angelfish are also reef safe.

I was thinking of either a clown or a Achilles tang? Anyone have a vote on that?

Clown tangs are very aggressive, so you will likely find yourself in the same situation as your current PBT. Achilles are difficult to keep in captivity.

Agreed, one of the reasons they weren't on my list.

i definitely agree with the wrasse suggestion! there are so many options and with a tank that size you could add a few not just not 1!
also what about a blonde naso

I don't want the same problem that's for sure! I really want something colorful and I love tangs. I already have a yellow tang, yellow belly hippo, and virmini tang

I keep a Purple, Powder Blue, Yellow, Sail Fin, Brown Kole, All Tangs in 325 Cube. I also have 5 large Angel Fish but back to the tangs. I think having a lot of them helps spread their attention, much like African Cichlids. They have all grown up together but over the years the Powder Blue was very aggressive but mainly with the Sail Fin. Now the Yellow and the Purple go at it occasionally but all in all the tank is big enough that they all get along pretty good for the most part. I don't think I would have had such good luck if I had only two or three tangs. Having a lot of them helps. In the wild most zebrasoma tangs are schooling fish. They really don't do so well alone. I haven't seen your rock work, but you might consider adding some more tangs rather than getting rid of your Powder Blue. I would also add that is difficult to obtain a good healthy Powder Blue so i wouldn't dispose of it lightly.
