I wouldn't. They should be in a 6' tank IMO. You could certainly do some smaller Tangs, such as those from the Ctenochaetus genus.

The ' after a number is feet, for future reference. I would stay away from the whole group in you size tank, even a smaller specimen narrowing troubleWell , i guess not any tang of acanthurus would fit in my tank rigjt?
And with 4 and 6 you mean foot right?

I wouldn't do a pair, maybe if they were small and introduced together, but still I don't think so. A single one...Some will say no, I have seen it done, but remember both these groups, zebra and a can are swimmers and as such want some space. Have you looked at the bristle tooth tangs like a yellow or blue eyed kole tang (ctenochaetus)

About the zebra i was actually sure that it would be okay since a lot of people keep them in tanks like i got.
In germany (where i live ) would the most people would advice to take the zebra over an bristle tooth tang.

I have found the zebras I've kept to be very active and a bit aggressive, kole tank a puppy dog happy to nipple at rocks all day. Like I said I have seen Z. Flavescens kept in your size tank, and I think one would work, but two...Not sure its worth the risk

I just looked at the width and height of your tank, been stuck on its length. I feel slightly better about the pair. Maybe even worth the risk, as long as the rock work leaves plenty of swim room.

It may work, it may not. Generally, you want to avoid Tangs of the same genus in smaller tanks. Maybe someone else who has kept both can chime in.

I have a 6 foot tank and i just got rid of my 4 inch Powder blue because she was very aggressive towards my 6 inch Purple tang and other tank mates.
So i have the 6 inch purple and a 2 inch blue hippo tang.
been a few days but everyone looks happier now, especially my blenny, he used to get abused by the PBT.

Yea some tangs are really aggresive , thats why i hate the purple tang too , but he is still beautifull.
But some ppl say that these species of tangs prefer to be aggresive to their own species , less to like a yellow tang. Can you confirm that?
