Powder blue

I just got a powder blue and he hid somewhere, I moved the rocks around and still can't find him. Any chance I smushed him? :/ wouldn't he take off if I came Across him?

Do you have a lid on the tank? Overflows? Check the floor, he might have jumped. I hope you do find him, one of my favorite fish.

Thank you, I did check the floor! I checked everywhere, I hope the rock didn't get him

Probaly just freaked out being in a new surrounding. Let tank alone and let him acclimate to new home and hopefully he will come out in a few days.

They like to hide. If he's not dead, then hes hiding. LOL

They are capable of fitting into some pretty tight spaces. Don't go disturbing the tank looking for it. This will only frighten it more and keep it hiding longer.

I had a small powder blue, 4", that always found a way to hid when I was doing tank maintenance. It took me a while to find his hiding spot. My money is on hiding. As others have said they can fit in very tight spots.

IME they are OK at hiding but depending on the structure I find most acanthurus tangs to be terrible at hiding relative to say hippo tangs which are masters

Lol, hippo tangs are masters! I had a hippo that would back into a small hole in my rock like it was his parking spot.
