Powder brown, fin rot? Something else

I have a powder brown in quarantine for the last few days. I am utilizing the tank transfer method , along with 2 clowns I have had for a couple years. They are in a 10 gallon hospital tank with 1.024, 78 degrees - ammonia 0.
I have been noticing a small spot at the bottom of his tail fin that seems to be degrading . While I didn’t notice this at all in the fish store , I only noticed yesterday. He still eats and I don’t notice any scratching or erratic behavior. I am concerned about fin rot , or perhaps something more sinister. Any ideas? Treatment ?

Have the clowns tried to push the PB around? 10G seems like tight quarters for all 3 together. What meds are you dosing currently?

Could be an injury/damage. Possibly bacterial if you are noticing it getting worse?
It looks more like an injury in pics.

Agree it looks like aggression damage. I would keep an eye on it. I don't think it is fin rot.

No meds - just straight tank transfer. I am switching to a 20 high tomorrow night. I have not noticed any of the clowns showing any aggression .

Usually, when it’s bacterial, the border of the degrading tissue gets a red/pinkish/white kind of border to it. Clean edges are usually from a tail-nip

If it is bacterial, how would I treat it? It does have a brownish tint to it, although the pics aren’t capturing it. What meds for bacterial so I can have them on hand in case it progresses .

Metroplex, Kanaplex, and Furan-2 work really well together and cover a wide range of infections.

Or Nitrofuracin Green Powder (NFG). This is my "go to" if I am treating an infection.
