i am running a 120 reef with a yellow and sail fin tang and some other misc fish. my yellow can be slightly aggressive to my sail fin. any thoughts on what would happen if i added a powder brown tang to the mix. all thoughts appreciated thanks

all tangs are Territorial and aggressive my powder blue took over the tank i never had any brown one but i will think after a while they will get alone fine. it might take some time.

My Powder brown was pretty aggressive but I had him in a fowlr tank with some triggers. He did beat the heck out of a a Klein's butterfly that I had to remove. I think it would be okay since you're adding the Powder brown last. I love powder browns.

in my reef i have a powder blue .. a lavender tang and a yellow tang .. you can but like they said it will take a lil time to get to know each other ..

yeah i think im going to go for it just re arrange a little rock so now one has territory..wish me luck

wrong aggressor

Powder Browns are notourious for catching ich. If you get one keep an eye on it. Ich can effect about any fish that gets stressed, so powder browns must be a high stress fish. I had a powder brown which was picked on by my kole. The kole was slighly smaller but it had the roam of the tank for about a 1/2 year before the powder brown. The powder brown spent most of his time he wasn't being chased by the kole, being serviced at the cleaner shrimp station for ich. I did not know about ich and powder browns until I read a number of articles about that fish. I got rid of the power brown because I felt bad for him since he would probably be infected by ich forever.

The browns are just as high strung as their blue bretheren, but they arent as agressive IME. I loved mine and was sad when I had to sell him because of a move. so long as you get a healthy specimen and dont have ich in the tank already, you should be good to go. I added mine in with a purple in my 75. also added a tomini later and the brown was more of the boss with the purple beign the enforcer.

Yellow are JUnkyard dogs in my opinion. they can be very mean and very territorial. be prepared to go lights out for up to 72 hours if the agression is really bad. leaving the tank dark will cool the yellow down and give the brown a chance to settle.
