I noticed that my Powder Brown Tang had dark splotches this morning. I’m not sure what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Usually when coming out of hiding (overnight) they camo themselves. How long has your tank been up? He may be getting acclimated to your tank.

The tank is about a month and a half old at this point. He has been in the tank for 1 week now. I did a 30% water change on Tuesday. I also have a yellow tang in the tank and he seems fine.

Just keep parameters stable, temp stable & feed both of them Nori and they'll be fine.

I highly doubt it. Powder browns do alot of stuff out of the ordinary of other tangs. First off they are super hardy, they can be very territorial so watch when feeding around other tangs and foxfaces.

In your case he's new, getting acclimated to surroundings and they go through color changes from night to day, when spooked, etc.. If anything as with tangs watch for ich (white spots) the PB I had, would show white spots one day, none for months then they'ld appear again usually when he was irritated.
