Powder Brown Tang Issue

Okay guys so I got this Powder Brown Tang from my LFS and all was great! QT went solid with running Cupramine and Prazi. He has these white blotches all over him and it concerns me. He is getting a little trouble from his tank Mr. Purple Tang but they are generally good about 90% of the time. Any advice will help.

QT for 30 days with 15 days in Cupramine and 15 days with Prazi.

Secondly, lil blotches could be the other tang ramrodding the PBT in its sides over territory.

Tangs either swipe their barb... or ramrod a competitive tang in its side and a "message" to leave its territory

Tank is about a year old now. Newer to the hobby.

I have noticed tail slapping you are describing. I attached a video. Mind taking a look. It might be a little more clear. Thank you.

A video really won't tell me much.

If the PBT is being chased, cornered.... if it doesn't clear up by next Tuesday, you're looking at two incompatible fish

They play nice 95% of the time. The PBT is new to the tank so he got roughed up for about a day and all is good now.

Can you set up an iPad or similar in the room and walk away for an hour video taping? Go back and watch it for Aggressive behavior?

That looks like aggression to me.

He eats like an pig!!!! The PBT and Purple Tang eat Nori right next to each other.

Honestly just keep a eye on it I've had a powder brown and blue tang with this exact thing it would randomly show up throughout the 3 years I've had them, my naso also had it but if the are eating and swimming fine then I wouldn't stress too much it's when they start swimming weird is when you should worry. You'll know the look I can't explain it but you'll notice that they aren't swimming like they normally do. My naso did this and I just knew something was up he would swim differently like he was drunk kinda and sure enough the next day he was gone. He was the latest edition to my tank and after about 2 weeks he was gone

Nori sheets are his favorite. He gets one 3x3 nori sheet a day.

You only feed him nori. I had issues like this a long time ago. My tang had hlle and spits like yours because of poor diet. My tang now gets nori and wafers. As a snack and main diet is selcon soaked salmon scallops shrimp and clam

So as of now he really likes the Nori. I feed Rods Frozen Reef food to the whole tank twice weekly and I can tell he does not love it like the Nori. I have even tried adding a garlic additive to the frozen food to make it more enticing and he will eat a little more of it.

Just a status update for all. The PBT looks great. I believe it was battle scars from the purple tang because it’s all clearing up really nice. Thanks.
