He is ok, the tupperware tub is floating in my tank , kinda like a acclimation thing <- w/e you call that clear plastic looks to be a little tank.
There are holes in the tupperware And i put the top on it.
Had no other choice, couldn't leave him in tank before I went to work for him to kill everything else.
I loved this fish, it was beautiful.
Then he went all adolf hitler on me.........
The old standard fish trap (coke bottle with inverted lid) just sits on the bottom. I've had the best luck with a small fish hook although the tang doesn't really suck the bait in and bite it like the other fish. He just nibbles on the edge until he has sucked it all off the hook. I use a #22 trout hook that I ordered from Bass Pro Shops. I've caught several fish with it in the past but no tangs.
I know my sailfin follows algae blindly and ive caught him by leading.him into a bix of eggcrate. Ive also had good succes using eggcrate boxes or just use a big piece to trap the fish and get him out with a net. A lot of times they think they can go through the eggcrate and then u just close it around on them. Like fashion 2 pieces of eggcrate to an L shape.thats as tall as your waterline so it cant get out once in
Harry, ive used the hook trick a time or two. once for a pesky spotted hawkfish, and the 2nd time for my large Sohal tang. worked like a charm both times. i used a piece of cocktail shrimp.
Shrimp doesn't stay on the hook very well. I started using chicken and they seem to like it just as well and it stays on the hook better. This tank won't go for the chicken though. I'm using tiny bits of nori.
