Good afternoon all,

I have a PBT in qt for 16 days now been through full GC treatment and also one prazi treatment.
The problem is that every morning he/she has black spots on the body and a few hours after they are all gone I have never seen this before. Any idea what is going on ?

I also have other fish in there also. Foxface s Fine along with the four wrasses lost the copperband when I dosed prazi don’t know why all was fine with it up until I added prazi.

@Humblefish

Tang fingerprint disease possiblity?

Do you have any pics of this?

I tried to get some this morning but I got busy with the little one will see if I can get some in the am as it’s only there for a few that’s what’s strange to me. I’m taking all meds out now already did one WC and added carbon.

Stress can cause tangs to "spot" up. Any of the other fish bothering the tang? Some tangs also get splotchy looking at night. It's part of their defense system of camouflage while resting/sleeping. Some do it, some don't.

No stress at all. I do understand about the spots when they are sleeping but it’s nothing like that unless this one just so his/her thing different cause it don’t happen during the night only at morning time(thinking about it you could be correct and it’s just done for a short period during the morning time Hmmm)

This is a quick vid I just did let me know what you guys see if anything. There is some flakes on one of the fins already planned on retreating.

@Greenstreet.1 Do the black dots look like this?

No they are bigger than that

There are two different kinds of turbellarian infections most commonly found in SW fish: Paravortex & Piscinquilinus.

Piscinquilinus is pretty rare (the black dots are larger than Paravortex - the first pic I showed you); but I found this photo showing a Piscinquilinus infection on the Internet:

if it is "blotchy" looking than it is just camoflage. I dont know of any disease that is only present in the morning.

Your foxface should probably be doing to spotted thing as well. Again, not all, but everyone i have ever had locked himself in a hole and patterened up for the night.

nice looking PB btw!!

Sad to say I came home to him dead this morning all other fish are doing fine will start copper power tomorrow.

Did you get that one locally or from LA? Mine was such a jerk in QT. He has turned into a beautiful fish, and gets along well with his Acanthurus tank mates.

I get most of my fish through importers he was all good in the qt think the copperband had something when it died and the tang picked it up so the plan is to do a big water change to night and start copper in the morning on the remaining fish. I picked up the Hanna “HotRocks” copper checker[emoji33] at RAP Saturday

Glad to hear it! You will love it for sure.

It definitely changes the game and will give you much more confidence using copper in QT!

To be honest I was always confident with copper power but I said let me stop playing the guessing game and I also have to put the wrasse through copper since they where all together and I don’t really like putting my wrasses in copper so i have to be safe. We all know how I’m crazy over my wrasses.
