So today I bought a CoralLife Compact Fluorescent AquaLighy RetroFit Kit 65 watt for my 26 gallon tank, and I'm wondering if it's okay to leave it directly above the glass top. Well, not directly, but 0.5 in above the glass.
The light is supposed to be hung on a canopy, but since I don't have a canopy, and the light can't be hung, my only option is to put it on the glass top. My concern is that the heat might have effects on the glass, or it may warp. What are your thoughts?

I'd not put it right on top of the glass. But its certainly not going to get hot enough to warp the glass. I'd throw a fan in there to get the hot air circulated though. No need to keep all that heat trapped up there.

Yes you can. :)
