Hey guys,
I have 2 jebao Powerheads on the left side of my 220g that create a nice gyre effect. I’m currently working on the tank and just redid the rock work to Make 2 islands and moved the rocks away from the back glass. Now the right side gets a ton of kickback flow from the glass and the left gets lower flow. All the nems have moved to the left island and now the clowns followed them and are fighting. if I lower to flow to make the right side happy, the left side doesn’t get enough. What would be a better way to position the 2 power heads to even out the flow and how should they point? I know it will take some tampering but general placement of what works for a lot of people would help. I also have 2 smaller random powers heads dangling in the tank as I change things that I can use- but the 2 big ones move a lot of water and the less cords and maintenance the better!)

hi,i want to say turbulence is best flow ,pointing at each other creates random flow :)

We had two OW-50’s on our 210gal running at 40% in Master/Slave mode on opposite sides of the tank pointed at each other. The pumps were set on Random & it provided sufficient flow for soft corals & a few SPS. I would give that configuration a shot.

We’ve since switched to using dual IceCap Gyre 4ks & are much more satisfied with the actual gyre & the pumps are much quieter.
