Going to add a refug to my system about 15 gallon what size pumps to use for the fill and return and can you have to much flow in tank from power heads. I am running 2 1200 GPH power heads. Water just does not seem like enough flow. Looking at 1600 or 3200.

If you've got a sand storm in the tank, you've got to much flow, other wise, go ahead and crank it up. What size tank are you running the 2400gph on right now?
The Return pump would all depend on what your overflow is. Do not use a water pump for overflow, and a return pump for return, not going to work that way. You need either an Overflow Box or a DIY PVC Overflow setup.

Yep,
You can not use two pumps. (1 to pump in and 1 to pump out). They will never stay balanced. If you want to add a refugium you need to raise that tank up at least 4 inches (more is better) and let it gravity drain back into the sump.

Tank is a square 150 the refug was going to in a separate location with two pumps but now I will have to build a completely different sump. Good to know about the info.

The power heads I am looking at are dual outlet 1600 or 3200 gph want to run 2 of them. One other thing a couple of my buddies have there's at different levels in the tank is there any benefit from that.

Your tank is your creation, you place your rock and your returns and power heads and than place them again, once you have figured it out you redo everything. There is no blue print /cutty cooker set up. Thats why it's a hobby. We can offer all our experience and knowledge but your creation is yours and will require it's own unique resolution.

Welp, if your running THESE they come with a flow director, so you can redirect the flow in different directions, and you won't have to run them at different levels in the tank.
I run the 3200gphs and have the directors on them, they work rather well.
