I would like to know what the majority of reefers lower their power heads at night? Given my lps and softies are closed up at night I feel like it’s a good time to add more flow

Yup, that's what i started doing a while ago; It makes complete sense. However, during the day I program my power heads to run for a couple of minutes at full speed at the top of the hour to stir things up.

I'm still learning this all but for me I would be turning them down mimicking a calm ocean. If you have fish its a good time while lights are off for them to recoup and "sleep" for another big day ahead of swimming. Might be wrong.

IMHO, because the currents in the ocean don't just start or stop according to the time of day, it makes little sense to change them in my system.
