So on Tuesday I am having my battery back up replaced, and everything that is connected to my aquarium is connected to that. I don’t think two hours itself will be a big deal, and I’ll be running a uv sterilizer on a long extension from another room anyway, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice for what to keep ready “in case” something goes wrong.

I keep one of these on hand just in case and it worked well the one time I had to rely on it. It holds a charge for a long time as well. It has a nice feature where it will automatically kick on when it detects power loss.

A power head is sufficient. Heater only if necessary

The only thing that actually needs to be running during that short timespan is your powerheads. Run an extension cord and power strip to your tank and plug those in there until the work is complete.

While not required, also plugging in your lights, return pump, skimmer, and one heater will cause even less stress during this period.

UV is not needed at all during this period.
