when power goes out what's the best way to keep tank warm in winter. and that with out having a gen or backup power supplies. and yes I know smart idea to get a generator. i have covered up the tank with blankets before in the past just looking for some more out of the box ideas.

Heated floating bottle pf water works just have to find the heat source.

Rather than getting a starting battery, look for a deep cycle battery. They're made to slowly discharge over time, not just dump a ton of amps instantly. On my boat, I ran two batteries- one high amp starting battery, and a deep cycle to run the lights and radio at anchor. Look into it and you'll see what I'm talking about.

The battery is $80++ and the inverter/charger is $400++.
we are actually be adding a bigger battery to add power.
