So I have a generator incase of power outages so it’s not really a problem when I’m home. Problem is when I travel for work my wife is unable to pull generator out, hook it into house and then start the generator. So what could I buy to just buy some time until hopefully the electric were to come back on?

Battery powered air pump? What are essential needs of a tank when the power goes out?

Do you also need the heater powered?

Thanks

You could buy a battery backup for your heaters and pumps. I know they last for some time until you would be able to get home.

Not directly answering the question, but I had the same problem, switched to a whole house generator. Another option I've seen is to build a shed for the generator, leave it connected. Then all one has to do it start it and switch over the circuits. My prior "portable" generator was a Honda with electric start so that would be pretty easy for anyone to start up.

im working on this now cause CA is on this wildfire prevention kick starting last year they shut down power in entire neighborfoods during windy Days...

I installed a manual transfer switch next to my panel. and a Honda EU7000is on the way which is electric start. it will be placed outside so when im not home the other half has to hit the electric start and plug it in and at the transfer switch just flip the switch and most of the house will be on generator... OUR issue is if we arent home. lol unfortunately nothing we can do. so its a gamble....

An APC1500 can run an mp60 for about 8hrs, can double that if you set it below 25% but that requires you to be home.

I have a push button electric start generator, an instruction guide, and we've walked through how to set it all up, with "fire drills" to be sure everyone actually knows how to set it up when there's a problem. I installed a reliant transfer switch so the generator powers the fridge, well pump, tankless water heater, and septic system. Haha, fish tank only gets one circuit for the pumps and skimmer.
