Is there any way to have your apex alert you when the power goes out? It doesn't alert you until the power comes back on and that almost cost me a ton this last weekend. Thankfully I have a large tank and the water parameters stayed stable for a while. Power was out on my tank for at least 24 hours and I only lost 4 fish. The rest seem to be ok and my corals were angry for a few days when the temp dropped to 69.

The problem ended up being my heater tripping the circuit when it came on while everything else was running. It hasn't had to run since I set the tank up in March and all has been fine. Now that it is getting colder it finally came on.

If you add this to your EmailAlm_XX alert you should get the alert when you lose power as long as the PM1 module has its own accessory power supply on a UPS...
If Power EB8_3 Off 000 Then ON (note use your energy bar ID in place of "EB8_3")

You'll also want to make sure all your networking devices are on UPS too, otherwise the alert can't go out. The only thing that should not be on a UPS is the EB8 (or EB4 as the case may be)

Thank you! This should work. My tank is at my job. All of our servers and networking devices are on a battery back up already so that shouldn't be an issue. We also have generators, but only the tank lost power this last time so no one noticed until fish were floating.

Spoke to apex support. They said I can plug the energy bar into the ups. Then get a 12v power supply for the base unit and plug it into the wall socket with no ups. When the power goes out I can set the apex to shut off all non-essential items (so it doesn't drain the ups) and it will send me a notification the the power to the base unit is off.

Yep, that works too because the PM1 module will still get power from the energy bar bus. It would just be a slightly different program to detect it.

Also make sure your network is on a UPS so you don't lose internet capability.

My tank is in the lobby at my job. All of our servers and networking equipment are on battery back-ups. We also have 4 huge generators for long term power outages.
