I have a 90 Gallon long fish tank. Power went out an hour ago. The first 15 minutes I splashed a plastic spoon in there to try and put some oxygen in the water. Most posts online said u have a couple of hours before you have to worry about it. Temp isn't an issue it will stay at 78. I did you red slime remover a few weeks ago and even though I have done a couple water changes I know the oxygen level in my tank may already be a little low from that. I was also told the fish would swim towards the top if there was a problem. Tomorrow I am going to go get some battery powered bubblers. Sorry for rambling. My question is will the fish tell me there's no air if I'm watching or should I start splashing in there now to keep oxygen levels ok.

If there is a 24 hr wally world nearby they should have the battery bubblers in the camping/fishing section, at least they do around here.
Personally, I would go tonight, then you can maybe sleep...

I've accidentally left my return pump off overnight. This meant no heat in the DT but there was water movement from Vortechs. You'll be fine, unless you live in a wilderness preserve, the power company should have it on within a few hours. Check out their website, PG&E will give you an ETA for restoration of service if you put in your address. You can also see if the outage has been reported or if it needs to be.

The battery bumblers will be good to have around if El Niño hits like its supposed, just keep fresh batteries around for them. My fear would be heating water for the tank for extended periods.
