Why is it that companies say to plug directly into an outlet rather than a power strip? I have cords running everywhere and I kind of want it to look a little neater. Is there maybe a certain power strip I need?

Power strips fail and everything plugged in fails with it.. very frustrating when you have all your power in one spot. You can get an APC battery backup from Best Buy ranging in price from 149-400 dollars which is not that insane if you have a well established coral tank. My ten gallon nano itself is setting in over 500 in coral alone. This backup allows you to plug a strip in and protects if the power goes out as well. Hope the info helps.
