Looking for a new powerstrip. I want one with individual on/off switches. Any recommendations?

Tripp light on Amazon is what I use. One always on outlet and 6 individually controlled ones. Also a surge protector. Been using one on my 60 reef for about 2 years and just installed a new one in my 120 I just setup. I really like em

Isn't the whole premise behind an Apex Controller is to individually turn things on/off???

8-outlets energy bar you can completely control from anywhere in the world from your phone for $250 ain't a bad deal considering the brute power of control and ability to monitor the outlet.

Apex is the great thing I've bought reefwise in 15yrs.....by a mile. Just wish their If/Then programming language wasn't so mind numbing when getting fancy on certain control functions

I’ve been using these for a little while now. Nice to be able to control the outlets from either the strip itself or via an app on your phone. Bonus that it tracks energy usage:

wifi power strip is the way to go. lots of choices on amazon. also, the power monitoring is quite accurate, unlike apex.

Really nice I have it on my Planted tank. You can set timers and turn the outlets on and off for maintenance. Most things you need a Apex for.:)

Kasa wifi power strip controlled by your smart phone and you can turn each socket off with a switch "like and animal":)

Yep, same one I’m using. Next time I need to remember to include a picture with my post ;)

I like the build quality, but the software / app is still somewhat lacking. I hope they put some more effort into it. For example, I’d really like to get notifications when an outlet is using more or less than a specified amount of current. Would be helpful to alert when equipment is not running to spec.

These have been disappointing me lately. My older ones started to have issues with bad switches and loose plug connections. I figured they were getting old, so I replaced them. Immediately had issues with a switch on a new one.

Everyone should also keep in mind that these offer no surge protection, so you need to provide that some other way, if you want it.

The Kasa smart power strip provides surge protection, switches for each outlet, an app to control the outlets remotely, and power monitoring on each outlet. We’ll see how it holds up over time.

I have had power outlet monitoring on my GHL powerbars for a long time. Never found the data useful.:) Work with power monitoring equipment all day long in the industrial maintenance field. Never as good as actually knowing the equipment by heart. I can tell when a motor is going out long before the powermointoring on a VFD tells me there is a problem.:)

+1 on the kasa strip - I control everything with it. Bonux that you can control it with your echo "Alexa turn skimmer off" is nice.
Can I confirm you can't set notifications on the Kasa? Also, do you know when the power goes out by way of a notification? Finally, can you set simple programs? Just curious... either way, I'm thinking about this over the Neptune to save money- it's bare-bone, but inexpensive :)
