Power-up your Acro's..........

I've never dosed anything but the "Big-3" and I was very skeptical about AcroPower. But after getting some ringing-endorsements from a well-respected local reefer, I gave it a shot.

I'm 5-days into the daily recommended dosage and I must say that I'm very impressed so far. At first I noticed increased polyp extension on the acans, then the hammers and duncans, then zoas started looking happier and now many of the SPS are showing increased PE. SPS have shown pretty good PE in my tanks so I wasn't expecting a huge difference, but I can certainly say it's noticeable and I'll continue to try and document it for all of you.

Here are a few examples:

After (today, 5-days into AP; and, yes, it's a very slow grower)

After (today, 5-days into AP -- I don't see a big difference in this one)

Oregon Tort + RR Frogger Acro by ..:.. EZ ..:.., on Flickr

I don't have comparable before pictures of these but they're good exemplars for the PE I'm seeing and I can assure you it's more than they were normally showing:

NaCl Tort by ..:.. EZ ..:.., on Flickr

These zoas are looking about as good as ever in my tank:

I'm hoping the results continue and I'll try to get some more comparison shots up as time goes on.

Awesome pics, bro.
More pics is always better.
I'm happy to see that you too have positive results.
So far that I know it worked for all who used it, even in a short time period.
There's not many times a product comes around with only results for the best as Acropower.
For the cost it's worth a shot and many reefers here did so.
Like to hear many more positive results if possible.
No wonder this product is back ordered at many retailers, must be good.

Is anyone getting cyano from it?

Nope, not me.
I have less algae growth because of it.
Due to more and better PE the corals are taking in more nutrients and so less for the algae.
And with that I mean I clean only my glass from algae (if you can call it like that) once a week.

Just got into dosing this stuff, ive been adding it after water changes, 30ml to my 250g tank. would it be better if i hooked it up to my dosing pump and dosed daily?

Thanks and I agree on all ends. It is a bummer that it's back-ordered everywhere, but word is getting out. Don't want to keep this a secret though because good products should be rewarded and it's important to spread good results across the hobby, especially when it's fairly inexpensive compared to other AAs.

I haven't had any yet but, again, I'm only 5-days in.

I think daily dosing via reactor is the preferred method and it's what I'm planning to incorporate myself if the results I'm currently seeing continue.

I am on my forth week dosing and WOW! PE is incredible. Growth rate has not increased yet, but I had to increase my 2 part by 10ml a day, so I am assuming I am about to see a growth explosion.

My LFS just got Gallon jugs of this in...I'm curious to know the pricing on those bad boys!

Look forward to trying this stuff once my Reef Energy AB runs out!

daily?

Zibba I did not know they had a reactor for this. Can you send me a link to it ? I'm interested and will like to read up on it.

I've been using it since Dec 18th.
My tank is 200g and I'm up to 15ml, being dosed once weekly.

So far, I can't really comment. I haven't seen any magic results yet.
My sps are coloring back up after I realized I stripped my water of nutrients using too much GFO before xmas.
But as of right now, I still have less color and less polyp extension than I did say back in oct/nov.
My sps may still be recovering so it will take more time before I can make any kind of fair comments on Acropower.
Over the last few weeks my two open brains are all closed up. They never looked bad in the past.

Other than two-part, my tank doesn't get dosed anything else.
I may even discontinue Acropower temporarily, especially since I'm about to change from dosing two-part to using a calcium reactor.
Too many changes at the same time to know what's doing what.

btw, it shows in stock at dr foster smith and it's only $12.99 for the 500mL.
I ordered 4 more and got free shipping too. So 50 bucks and I'm set for quite a while. :whoo:

D2, once the dust settles and if you start trying the acropower again, you might want to try upping the dose. I'm at about 150g total and the recommended dosage was 25 ml. I understand not wanting to push it though and staying slow so you don't crash the system with an unknown product.

Yep, i started with 3ml and have been upping it each week, heading towards the recommended amount.
I was going to switch to twice per week this week but now thinking i should probably hold off. Or maybe continue dosing half the recommended amount for a while.

I just want to mention that too, I'm at 7.5 ml a day and I'm 202..........HAHA well, my tank is, LOL.
I also dose potassium, a product that a lot of ppl forget.
Test your water and if you're not at 400 you need to stay on top of that.
D2, mmmmm..........LOL, well you see my tank Saturday for the E photo shoot of the WAL.
Man , you got to see my Rics.............they look like carpet anemones!
SPS all look like Mili's on dope...............

I ordered some today!!.

Diesel,
Great pics.. What is that first pic? showing great growth and colors are amazing.
