I need to post some on my build thread too.
I'm telling you, I have seen a lot but this blows my mind that just a simple $12 bottle can make so much difference.

Do you work for Julian? lol

You are hyping this product up to death. I can't wait to try this.

Nothing wrong with a good product to hype it up.
Just in favor for all of us reefers.

Has anyone used this for three months or more ?

Most people just heard of it from the reefbuilders article. Unique corals has been using it for sometime but I'd say it was a trade secret befor the article. I just switched from Fuel to Acropower and in 2 weeks I can see a difference in coloration even on things that looked great already

This sounds like great stuff but is there anyone who has seen an increase in algae growth? I tried some Elos Amino acids a few years ago and had a lot of excess flim algae growth on my tank.
I am getting a lot of slime Algae growth from dosing Acropower. I followed the directions to the T. I do love what it did for my Acros though. It is a shame I will have to stop dosing it. Dan

I have been dosing daily for about 7 weeks now. My observations are increased coloration, new growth tips on pieces that had not been growing well, increased PE. I have seen an increase in the waste that the protien skimmer produces but I would expect this since amino acids are the building blocks for protien. I have also seen an increas in macro algae production in my refugium but have not had any increase in algae production in my display tank. Just picked up 11 sps pieces at a frag swap on saturday and I will be interested in what difference take place with them once they are done their QT period. SO far I am a believer and have my second bottle due to arrive today.

That's to bad of the increase slime algae.
Maybe dose a bit less and see if the SA will decrease.
I'm dosing now for three weeks a double dose on the frag tanks and don't see any effects yet.
According to long time users it has no negative effects what so ever.
Can you give a brief layout from your setup, for what you use as equipment and the lights and how long?
What are your # in the water column?

I have an Elos 120xl and a 100 gallon sump which I run about 30 gallons of water in. I run a ATI Sunpower 6 bulb fixture in which the bulbs are 4 months old. I run my lights for 7 hours a day. I am running a Aquamaxx CO-2 skimmer. My Alk is 8.2 and my calcium is 450 and my mg is at 1500 and my PO4 is at .03 currently. I dose 30ml's of Acropower to the display once a week. Julian Sprung told me to watch my Alk to see if it was dropping to much, which it isn't and to increase flow if the Alk wasn't the issue. I feed my 4 fish very lightly once a day. I am also BB. I use a dosing pump to deliver B-ionic to my tank. I have very little live rock. That about sums up my tank. Dan.

All looks good, except that very little LR.
LR is used to house all kinds of good microscopic life that will take care of your balance.
Not saying that you have to ad more LR to your DT but maybe you may try to ad slowly a few pieces in your sump, if possible.
Increasing flow may help too, not sure how much flow you have in your DT.
Flow from your return pump isn't enough as you well know.
Love to see a picture of your DT, looks like a interesting setup.

Ahh that sucks, Dan. I'm going to give it a try as soon as it gets here but as soon as I see any excess algae growth, I'm going to pull it. Thanks for the feedback, Dan.

You mean cyano? I had to stop dosing because this stuff (and other aminos) is crack for cyano. I do like what it does for acros but I can't use it right now.

Richard: other than better PE, did this product do anything else for the SPS corals? - Like improve SPS colours? Deeper colours? Bring out colours in browned out SPS corals?

Diesel: I've been in the hobby for around 15 years and therefore over time have become quite sceptical about most "potions"...

You mentioned back in December, a couple of frag tanks: Its been around 4-5 weeks, so have you seen any difference in the SPS colouration in those tanks?

In your display (other than more PE) what differences have you noticed in your SPS corals in terms of colour?

Hard to tell because colors were doing well to begin with, but I did notice a little something extra. The difference was most apparent on a hoeksemi. This coral became more rich in color and had better florescence. My system is young being only a few months old, and I did have small patches of cyano before I dosed this product. Like my experience in the past with brightwell aminos, acropower was just what was needed to make these small patches grow into large mats. When my system matures a little I will probably try this product again.

Yes PE and color are the main thing that AA will do to your corals.
As I mentioned before AP isn't all you should using, latest but we all know...........do we?
Potassium is a important factor too for color and growth.
After all you need to feed your corals too in moderate amount (see earlier post)
About the Cyano........... as I said I did overdose on the fact to see the con side of it, never saw any Cyano only some Algae growth on the glass.
Now Algae on the glass is weird to me as I used to clean my glass on the DT once a week only.
Now about two times, as I'm of ZEO.
Not sure to me but I don't think AA promotes Cyano.
Cyano is in most cases the effect of poor water quality or not enough flow.
I think if you check on that and relocate your flow pumps in your tank you'll see improvement, small water changes like 3 times a week will work too on the benefit of your water quality.
I have 5 MP40 running on mostly reef crest mode never had the problem of cyano in the DT.
On the frag tanks I had the WP25 from jabeo but replaced them for the MP40's and just doing that I had better results too.
So a good flow is a factor too.
A member in the Houston area couldn't keep SPS frags alive and spent a fortune on them.
They ask me for advise and first of I ask them about flow, they had only 1 MP40 on a 320 gallon 7' long tank.
I advised them to get the best for awesome results and they bought 2 MP60's and 2 more MP40's.
As lights they had already 2 Pro's so my advice was get two more and the WAL from Ecotech or just 3 more Pro's.
Now their corals are doing awesome, they use the ZEO products but just to increase flow and enough light can make a huge difference.
And again what works for me doesn't have to work for someone else.
Each tank is different and uses different equipment that can makes the process give you a completely different effect.
Hope by stopping with AP you get rid of the Cyano, cause you don't want that and when cured maybe give AP a chance again.
Good luck and keep us updated about your tank.

Ben.

Hello All!
I have been following this thread since inception and finally ordered a 500 ml bottle from Amazon. That was 2 weeks ago and now have found that at no fault to amazon it was our local post office that didn't make the delivery, instead sent it back. I emailed the company through amazon yesterday and within a couple hours I had a response from Carlos at MarineandReef.com. Carlos not only provided superior customer service but also is resending the Acropower to me via FexEx. I found to mention this here to be appropriate in two ways. One, the fact that you can go here Two Little Fishies C-Balance Bactiv8 NPX
And get this amazing product at great prices and available in all sizes. Second, because of Carlos and his excellent customer service which in today's world has become very hard to find especially in our hobby!

I am excited to try this product as it has received a lot of great reviews and what's better than a tank full of happy and healthy animals!

Thank You Diesel for starting this thread!

Also on a side note, I am in no way affiliated with any of these companies, the purpose here was to publicly mention a company that provides excellent customer service and a product that we all want.

Cheers!
