So I have a lumenmax 3 pendant hanging over my Nanocube 28, and I want to add some powerbrite strips. Is it possible for me to just attach them?

The powerbrites are 12 inches long, while the reflector is only 11 inches long.

Thanks!

Although this does not specificly answer your question I'll chime in. Can't remember whether it was NanoCustoms or Nanotuners that were coming out with a 3x3W Blue LED actintic add-on for pendant lighting. You didn't say, but since you are already running MH - I assume you are looking for more blue/shimmer.

Although this won't work in your case due to the pendant style lighting, I had a powerbrite strip mounted under the hood of my RSM 130D. In my case it was too close to the water surface and the sandbed for that matter and caused a annoying spotlighting effect. I switched out the 4 Ecoxotica stunner strips and have been very pleased with them. They would probably be too weak in your case as it looks like your light is 10 to 12" off the water surface.

The lights nanocustoms are coming out with are to be added onto sunpods, I thought. I'm looking for the crazy LED effect when the Metal Halide goes off.

Do you think two would be enough?

Yes you are correct - but metal lip (for a lack of a better description) that slides into the Sunpod slot is the very similar on various pendant and even over the tank sytle lights. Basicly any light that has a channel meant for you to install and adjust the width of legs will hold the LED add-ons with little to no modification.

Will two be enough? Don't know as you already have some pretty bright MH lighting. Don't think it will hurt any (other than possibly the aesthetics of having powerbrites mounted to the exterior of your pendant hood/enclosure). Any open LED that is mounted above "line of sight" can be distracting. And I would not risk trying to install those inside you pendant along with the MHs due to heat or even worse - risk of burning your whole house down. I'm going to ask a stupid question, but bare with me as I'm a T5 and LED kind of guy with no MH experience. Wouldn't this whole endevor be easier by changing bulb temps?

This is just for actinics, when the MH goes off. LEDs give crazy pop and colors that a MH can't.

Last bump.... I want to be able to attach the reflector to the pendant and angle it into the tank. PLEASE if you know, answer. :squigglemouth:

Just a thought .
I can't see why aluminum L materials wouldn't work . I was going to do that for a RB I passed on this weekend . You could cut it 12 inches. Paint it black . Drill holes to attach . Use two l brackets attached to the ends for pivoting . The RB's came with l brackets on the ends so that retro would have been easy for me .
