So I have a 720 gph powerhead that I'm trading for a 425 gph one. I have been told that 425 is still too much flow for a 10 gallon softie and LPS tank. I really don't want to have to buy a new one, although I will if I have to. What should I do? Is there any way that I can aim it so I can use it in the tank?

If you can point it towards the surface. Or to the front or back glass depending on how you have your tank laid out.

I agree, as long as the substrate isnt blowing all over the place, your good to go.

It is not too much. I have a nano 425, a Koralia K-1 and a modified AC-110 HOB filter on a 16G bowfront with 3" of Southdown sugar sized sand and its not enough. I plan to replace the two powerheads with a Jebao WP-10 soon.

^^^Agree. Also once you place rock and coral. You may need all that flow from the powerhead
