Putting my 4x2x2 tank back together (primarily SPS). I decided to put a Reefwave 25 on either end. I was thinking of adding a couple of small powerheads low at the back to hit dead spots, but have never used a gyre type pump and not sure if I need it. I trying to get everthing under the tank super organized so I want to put everything in at the start.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

I had four gyre pumps in operation once. They are great, but, really a pain to service - in my experience - and don't run as long between service as other choices.. If you get one, stock up on spare parts, they do tend to make upgrades and then legacy parts can be hard to come by. The little bushings and couplers are what tended to break in the gyre pumps that I had. It's also a little more complicated since the bladed propellers have a right and left.

I see that someone on brs commented that the reefwaves are easy to service. Perhaps the design is better than the ones I had

I run two gyres up top to minimize cord intrusion, and two mp 40s down low. All on the back wall.
