A week ago I noticed my mixing container water was 87 degrees. When I opened it up to take a look at it, the water had a layer of soot in it, and it smelt like an electrical fire. I had a maxijet in there I used for circulating the water, and it seemed to have burnt up and kept burning up for the whole weekend I was out of town. I am very fortunate nothing catastrophic came from this.

I have washed out the container but it still smells like an electrical fire. What else can I do to help clean the container out? I was thinking of dumping vinegar in there and letting it soak, or even bleach. What would you all recommend?

Vinegar or citric acid should do. If not then you can bleach but usually no need.

If it were me I’d just dump the container. I agree you’d probably be fine just washing it but it’s not worth it for something that is easily replaceable

They run about $100 bucks, so I'd like to at least give cleaning it a shot.
