I have been an AC Hydor man for many years. I keep thinking of upgrading because of the clicking and other things that seem nice with DC. However:

MP40's and like rust.
Nero's chop up fish.
Gyre's a pita to clean.

I keep not spending money on that upgrade. Makes me chuckle though.

You could get a cover for the Nero to protect the fish.

@KenRexford I use a MP40 in my tank with a nem guard and love it. To your point about magnets rusting, I thought that this was the result of people soaking the heads in vinegar which caused a swelling of the plastic. Personally, I remove the wet side every water change to inspect and clean it off.
