I have a 5.5 gallon mixed reef and was wondering if I should use my controller for powerheads to alternate or just run both all the time. One powerhead is 425gph Korilla and other is cheap 80gph off of ebay

At the moment I just run them both all the time. I also have 2 other 500gph powerheads that I don't use and was wondering if I should keep it how it is or switch out the 80gph one for a 500gph

I find alternating current stimulates coral health and growth. If the manufacturer says you can use them that way . Why not.
ARe they DC pumps where you are alternating the current up or down, or do you plan on doing on/off operations?

there on off

should I keep using the 80gph or switch to the 425gph. don't know if 2 425gph ph in a 5.5 gallon would be to much

There are those new Rossmont powerheads. They come without a controller and you can use them for constant "on". And if you want later, you can buy the controller separate.

I have a controller...3 korilla 425gph,a 800gph and a 80gph....right now just the 80 and one 425 are in my tank, was wondering if I should switch the 80 out for another 425 or would that be too much for a 5.5 g tank

Why don't you try it and see how it is? 5 gallons is pretty small. I have a single pp4 on a 40 breeder and it's more than enough.
