I am wondering if my flow is adequate and looking for suggestions on how to improve my flow. In a lot of tanks I notice a 'sway' on the euphyllia, but mine don't seem to do that.

I have a

On the back left wall pointed forward and slightly up, a 1" return pipe attached to a QuietOne Pro 3000 return pump wide open and:

3 Hydor Koralia Nanos with Hydor Smartwave controller. I have these set up with 1 under the arch pointing towards the front glass, one in the top right pointing towards the front glass and one on the right back glass pointed towards the left side blowing behind the rocks [kind of]

They don't sway for you even with a short wave pattern? I use a PP-20 on my 125 gal and its set to max and turns off and on every 3 sec or so and I have a good "sway". I would say see if you can shorten the time between them being on if you want more sway.

If I turn mine up it blows the octospawn in the front left corner seems distressed, looks like a lot of flow on it. The hydor were on for 1 min, off for one minute. I just changed them to go on/off every 15 seconds now (I think). Bought the pumps used, not sure what the settings do

The 1” return is large. You might want to restrict opening. You are that judging by desired sway is a good way to visualize the flow on coral polyps. Look at some of the nicer tanks on youtube (or in person if you know of some) and try to emulate that sway.

Is the whole return length plumped with 1”. If you go over 8ft of head you wont get much return.

From pump to outlet is all 1", vertical height of 4', horizontal of around 1.5'

The water comes out pretty well.

Tank is 32gallon biocube with a 20g sump

This is a video I took to show my feeding, but you can make out the euphylias in the front left and the back right to see what my flow looks like more or less. I think that the octospawn might not be opening up all the way due to the flow over it. The hammer sometimes opens all the way up and extends, but most of the time just fills in in tight tentacles [not long flowing tentacles]

They also might not be opening up as much due to Zero nitrates. [going to start dosing nitrate in the next day or so]
