I have 2 powerheads in my 20 gallon tank. One is pointing slightly downwards created a current clockwise. The other is pointing upwards to create a current counter-clockwise.

Is this the ideal position?

Looks pretty good.

What I like to do is to stir up dust or use a frozen food so that you can “see” the flow and the patterns it makes. You’ll see high turbulance areas and low slower laminar flow areas. Those are a good thing. Some corals like low some like high.
What you want to avoid is completely dead spots.

And be patient , you’ll be tweaking you flow a lot. 3 years later, mine is almost perfect. :)

Looks good. As mentioned above, use food or disrupt the sand a bit to really get a good view of your current flow. The only suggestion I would make is possibly moving the one at the top from the back towards the front of the tank. Keep it angled down but also angles slightly towards the back of the tank. One in the bottom back, angles up and towards the front. If what you have is working, no need to make changes!

Thanks! I was thinking about doing that. I had some dead zones before. I just moved it and that is 100% better!
