Powerhead Modes

I always seem to keep switching my wave maker modes about every couples weeks or so. I first had it on the wave mode and then switched it to the ramp up and down constant mode. Then I switched it to the random mode. Now I'm back to the wave mode. Which one does mostly everyone use. I'm stuck between the wave mode (On and Off) and the ramp up and ramp down mode. Can't seem to make up my mind!

Recently I changed my sand just because the mode I wanted to run wasn't working due to how fine the sand was. I went and got a heavier grade sand and now I can get off wave mode and run both on random. (I have Jebaos). I always try to have as much flow as both the sand and corals can take and every so often I push increase power but I end up moving sand so I back off...until I get the itch again. Lol
