I am looking into getting a 70 or 100 gallon tank and need input on powerheads. Ive looked at Ecotech mp40 and Tunze nanostream 6055 and 6095. Any opinions on these or are there better options. Also how many is another question. It will be a lps reef

For the $ value I'd look at the Jebao RW series and would highly endorse a pair of RW 8's for that size tank. I have a pair of RW 15's on my 125g and simply am impressed with their performance and quality for the $'s.

Cheers, Todd

awesome! Thank you. something that works great and is cheaper is ideal.

As far as lighting I want kissel. the footprint of poss tanks is 35" or 47". So if I understand the 360 wide properly, it is ideal for mixed tanks and I would need 3 for smaller tank or 4 for larger. Correct?

Should be i was running 2 on my 90 but should have had the n series for better depth penetration. Now if you have a center brace might want to go to 4

I'll do that. As far as skimmers, what's the best lately. I'm familiar with older products and technology is always advancing. One thing I want is a smaller footprint and ability to hook up my co2 scrubber to air intake

As far as the power heads go, I am a fan of the Riptide Gyre. For the skimmer, Reef Octopus gets my vote.

I've said this a hundred times and I'll say it a hundred more. My vortech has proven to be the best investment I've made for my tank. Twice during hurricane Irene and an October snow storm that knocked out power in my area for 4 and 5 days my vortech on a backup battery was the only thing that kept my tank alive. I had no losses while others around me lost so much. The gyre is supposed to have a backup battery coming for it but I don't know how that will work. The jebao seem good if you are on a budget but I'll never get rid of my vortech.
