Hey there,

So Im running a Red sea reefer 250 with 2x Tunze 6045. They are in pulse mode via the 7095 controller. I have the feeling that this set up I decided for is not optimal, because there are small areas which are not reached good by flow, for example beneath the arc). But Im struggling to find a good placement because my rock work seems a little bit demanding regarding flow.

Theyre currently set up diagonally from each other but not aiming directly towards each other, instead a bit off.
Also sometimes it seems to be to much flow as the two Clownfish (especially the little one) seem to struggle from time to time. And that is even though theyre set to the lowest setting. But as a total newbie I could be wrong.

I have considered to place them both at the back left and right. I Just have to move my zoa from the right corner some where else, to prevent to much flow, right?)
But I think on this short distance they would absolutley blast everything away as they would be really close to the rock work.
Maybe on the back but high up?

Your help is appreciated :)

When I ran a pair of similar Tunzes on one of my smaller tanks, I ran them in the back left/right corner about 4-6" from the water surface aimed out at about a 30-degree angle. It sometimes helps to temporarily add an airstone so you can see flow pattern in greater detail.

Aiming down/towards the middle I assume?
Will try that, Thanks :)

I'm not sure what speed you're running it, but you could always drop it by a level or two.
Thats the Problem, its already at the lowest setting. At least at the Main Controller. I reduced the Power Level on the powerhead integrated Controller, but not sure if that changed something.

Really not a fan of the Controller and build concept of these Tunzes at all... Maybe if I find a good offer I replace them with MP10s or so

Do you know/think a Single reef wave 25 will be enough?
As always, thank you so much for your help :)
It might be, yes. You could always start with one and see how the flow is. I run mine mostly on random between 10-40% during peak lighting.
