Hey trying to figure out where to put my power heads in my 120g 4x2x2 tank.

Just one on each side wall one going towards the front and one towards the back area?

Both on the back wall facing towards the center?

My only experience so far is a 29g Biocube haha. Not as many options in that one.

Wow pretty terrible pic. I just finished filling it with water. This pic is without water. Overflow is in the back center. Its an SCA 120 eurobrace tank

Nothing fancy for me yet. Just some Jebao's but they should do the job.

They'll get the job done.
They can be synchronized, so you can still do sone cool flow patterns.

I have two powerheads like I stated above, with an additional gyre on the back wall. I get nice chaotic patterns.

I havent started a build thread yet. I have taken alot of pics though so I can put one together.

After watching that video. As my tank is a 4ft tank. I am wondering if I should put both fans on one side instead of 1 on each side now.

I think I would rather put one on each side. Just so I can put the fans both near the back of the tank have one shooting across the back and angle one to shoot towards the front center. I think that will give me a cleaner look when it comes to cords.

BUT - Seems like the two next to each other one lined up with the front of the tank and one lined up with the back of the tank might work best.

One layout I like is putting them at each end but in the back corners. Then aimed diagonally across to the opposing corner. I ramped the speed up and down throughout the day in opposition so the flow was ‘tidal’ in nature - one direction for a while, then colliding for a while, then the opposite direction.

Ok so I currently have 1 on each side. The are 8in down in the water. They are about 8in off the back wall. So not all the way back but not in the middle.

One is shooting straight across at the other. The second one is shooting towards the front glass.

I dont have anything but rock sand and water in the tank so its kind of hard to tell what the right choice is going to be.

I have a gyre on the left side, and two tunze 6095 on the back wall pointing degrees left and right. I also have an mp 40 on the back wall with a battery back up

! Thats alot of powerheads!

Well the gyre wasn’t enough with my rock work
I got a great deal on the Tunze’s, like a really great deal.
And as I said the mp40 is there because I have the battery backup for it
