I have a 220 gallon tank, im using 2 jebao pp20 powerheads for flow. I'm putting a marbled catshark in this tank and using caribsea fiji pink arag alive sand. I wanted to know best placement for powerheads to prevent sand blowing around everywhere.

+1 on each side. I would place mid-high with a slight angle upwards. This will give great surface tension release and good gas exchange as well as limiting the blow on the bottom which should minimize the sand movement... depending on aquascape, of course.

Will you have any rock work? If yes, I think you want to cause flow through and from the rock and allow any deadspots to fall on surfaces of your sand bed around your rock work. Why... because you will vacuum and clean the sand much easier than removing detritus from the cracks and crevasses of your rock scape. I agree on each side.

Only 40 pounds in a 220 tank, not much only enough for a cave and the rest is swimming space.
