Getting 2 btas tomorrow for 2 tanks. The powerheads came with foam (e-flux marine orbit) but they only go around the front part. Doesn't the entire head need covered? I used this mesh (for sewing to put around spools of thread). And used a hair band to hold as they kept blowing off. If mesh bags are used, I assume zip them around? Or use the finer bags for like purigen? and zip tie? Those seem like not enough flow and a pain to undo. Trouble with these, is they will act like an algae scrubber but I suppose there is no good idea that isn't ugly!

Anything like you have will act as a canister filter sponge and get clogged up fairly quickly. Like every 3-4 days, pita

People make parts for this sort of thing with 3D printers. I bet if you search the 3D print forum here you could find a maker to reach out to.

that's an idea. turns out my order from LA is delayed and will reship when 75% of the order is filled! What the heck? I have a clown shipping from Florida or somewhere but the stuff in CA is not coming. So disappointed

generally when i get a new nem ill turn the flow down for a few days and let the nem get settled before i work the flow back up to normal

good idea. The small 40 gal tank which is the observation tank with a pair of perm. clowns doesn't have a powerhead to turn down. Just a cheap one to move water (red sea 40 gal aio), but the 125 gal does. so that will work. They might be too high anyway...
