Looking to see if anyone else is using a pump to pull algae from the tank. I've got some GHA or hair-like algae on the bare bottom glass. I wanted to directly remove it with a pulp attached to some silicone hose to pull it. Would a maxijet 1200 do the job? Looking for something with a stronger propeller in case this would damage the motor of a weaker pump.

As far as flow, I've got a 75g display 3x2' tank with a varios4 return on full speed and a maxspect 330 gyre running random mode 50% power. Wondering if I should add a tunze pump somewhere like the opposite end as the gyre but purposely low and positioned at t back of the tank to keep things cleared? Tank is bare bottom. Turn the gyre much more and it's far too much for the LPS so I was hesitant to add more flow.

I've used a brush and captured it with a fish net. I've not heard of sucking it out with a pump.

Was thinking even that I could go from silicone tubing to rigid pvc with an attached razor at the end of the pvc and just scrape and actively vacuum. The output of the pump could go back into the tank through a filter sock to avoid draining the tank during the process.

Could work.
