im wanting to upgrade my hydor koralias in my 46 gallon bow.. and wondering which brand makes the better pump for a smaller tank the tunze or vortex.. and what size should i get?? im wanting to use 1 on each side of the tank.. and get the wavemaker.. please help me out..

im thinking of going with the mp20's.. this might be a dumb question but i dont have any experience with them. do you have to get the wavemaker to make the powerheads do the different wave patterns? like the lagoon,or the cresent reef?

It all comes together. The driver, wet side and dry side. I have 2 MP40W's so I can't say for sure, but if the MP20's are the same, you will be able to select from any of the 5 operation modes.

im looking on fosters and smith and it says the mp40 comes with the driver and 2 mp40's and it says the mp20 is the same as for function but doesnt say if it comes with the driver and doesnt say if it comes with 2 powerheads or just 1.

If you are looking for a package, the only ones I've seen are for the MP40W at Marine depot. I've never seen them (package deal) with the MP20. I think you will have to buy the MP20's and the battery backup individually if that's what you are after.

i read it wrong its talking about the wave drive.. but i still cant figure out if the mp20 comes with the wave?? it says the 40 does and says the 20 does the same thing as the 40 but for a smaller tank.. but doesnt say it comes with the wave drive

From what ive heard the Vortechs are a bit louder than Tunze... Depends how tolerant you are i guess.

All vortechs can make waves. I would go with 2 MP20's for your tank, and adjust the flow on them to suit your tanks requirements.

the mp20 do almost every thing as a mp40w the 40 have way more gph that it can do and also the mp40w's can communicate with each other do to wifi that they have built in...aka you can set the master to be on and the slave to be off...then slave on and master off....and it will all be timed right...the 20's you will have to play with...they do not communicate with each other or any other.... i have a 40 and a mp10 in my 150..40 is on short pulse and 10 is on reef crest....i think its the best form of random flow i could get....
