Just bought a 265 gallon with 2 corner overflows 7ft long by 24" deep and 30" high. Looking on recommendations for powerheads. This is going to be a slow build and I plan on running it in the dark for 4 months so no hurry on getting everything at once. Eventually it will be a mixed reef. Looking at the vortech pumps maybe a 40 on either end at first then later on I could add a 60 or two and put the 40s on the back. Or is there a better option, maybe cheaper since 750$ for a 60 is pretty steep. Maybe just 4 40s. Or a different brand, what do ya'll think?

Gyres are perfect for flow. I have 2 of the big ones in my 400g 8’ tank and 3 mp40s(prob don’t need them but I had them from a old tank)

You think 2 250s would be enough? I looked at them but questioned it when BRS description said perfect for shallow lagoon or reef tanks and they put out a "sheet" of flow. Marine depot described them differently, seems like a much cheaper and easier option
