Hey guys I'm thinking about going with vortexh powerhead/s. my question is for my 70 gallon cube would you do one MP40 or two MP10's?

I'd go with the 2 MP10's, I had a standard 75g with a MP20 on it and it wasn't enough, I think you would be better off with the different flow patterns of 2 pumps in your cube.

2 MP40's. If the flow is too great, you can dial it down. In my humble opinion, it gives you more flexibility and room for tank upgrades

On a 60 gallon cube I run one MP 40. The tank is sps heavy and I haven't had any issues in three years. This is the first generation of mp 40's so i don't have all the slick wave modes on it.

I would do an mp40w. Then if you feel that its not enough then add another. Its a better investment in case you ever step up to a larger tank.

I would say 2 MP10's, I have 1 on my 40b and hardly ever turn it up past 2/3. Definitely get the ES drivers.

sorry to ressurect an old thread, but if i got the two MP10 route can you wire to ES together and have them work like the wireless models that sync with eachother and communicate what the other pump is doing or do I have to go with the wireless drivers? Also what is the big advantage of having them sync togehter? Is it really worth the extra $50/pump $100/total investment?

I am not sure, I haven't ever had the ES models but honestly I don't think it makes much of a difference or not.
