Hi
i have a 4ft 270l ( 70gal) and currently have a 1800lh power head and a 1500 lh power head ,
i have 1 at each end , i was thinking about putting the 1500lh one on the back of the tank and getting a new one for the end,
what would be a good size pump in L/H and how many pumps total/LH total for this size tank.
when i did it years ago i had 2x 1800lh i think , (ive had discus for to long and used to low waterflow)
thanks mark

Hello Mark, what are your goals for the tank? What are you looking to keep in the tank? Are you someone that want's the latest in programmability and integration into controllers or something more basic, at least to start?

Hi,
I have the 1800l/h and 1500l/h running at the moment , fish seem happy and swim with and against the current etc , I will be adding some corals over time , I'm not interested in controllability at the moment,
I would like more water flow than I have and was looking for info on how much more people recommend without over doing it. I understand about dead spots , and movement for coral etc , it's more about a happy medium .

I would say it's more about coral placement and allowing for areas in your tank with various amounts of flow so all corals you want to keep can be accommodated for rather than finding a happy medium for the whole tank. I would suggest 6000 L/hr for LPS corals and 10,000 L/hr for SPS corals that benefit from a high flow.

ok great,
so in saying that would i have 6000 l/h on one side of the tank and have LPS near that , and 10,000 L/H on the other side and have SPS near that?
Thanks
Mark
