Powerhead suggestions for 8 foot tank

I’m shopping for powerheads at the moment and would like to hear what other people with similar sized tanks are using and enjoying.
My first choice would be two MP60s, but I don’t foresee me finding a hidden bag of money anytime soon so any ideas are welcome. I’m going to be moving the pair of 4K Icecap gyres from my current tank to the new one, but I will definitely need to supplement these to get the flow. The tank is 96 x 24 x 24 (240 gallon) and will be a mixed reef. Thanks for your thoughts

I’d say the hydro wizard ECM63, but that requires an even larger hidden bag of cash. 8’ is a tough push, maybe a couple of WAV if you have an apex. Maybe the largest Jebao if you don’t.

I’d like to go as cheap as possible, but not if it means buying something I’ll just have to replace in a year. I made that mistake with lights on my first tank and won’t do that again. Lol I’m willing to pay more for a solid piece of equipment.

Tunze is a solid brand.

Jebao if you are a gambler. They can last 1 month or forever but they cost just a fraction of anything else. So even if you get a dud you won’t be in the hole.

I second the Jebao for a budget pump. The new SOW-20 pushes A LOT of water, but it is also a big pump.

If you can swing it the MP40's on back and Gyres on the sides, as @Potatohead suggested, would be a solid plan.

Wouldn’t 2-4 gyres along the back and 2 on the side do pretty well too?

I run 2 MP60’s and 4 MP40’s on my 8’

I ran 2 reefwave 45’s almong with MP40 and they did a great job, I’m just lazy and prefer swapping wet sides for cleaning.

I use a wave box also but I keep going back and forth do to the looks of it, creates motion in the tank that I can never seem to replicate without it

Sorry for the late reply; I ended up going with Icecap Gyre 4Ks. Right now I’m running one on each side, but will also be adding the two that are currently on my 90 gallon. They move a lot of water! Lol
