Powerhead turning white and rock changing is this normal?

So my powerhead was new when put into tank and now it’s white all around is that normal could someone tell me what that’s from? From the salt? And rock is slowly changing color was a pure white (dry rock) is that a good color change for the rock? Still in cycle by the way.

Totally normal.

The white is just new tank dust settling where it can.

The rocks will turn brown then green then purple.... hopefully.

They may even grow hairy


Yeah....all normal. The rocks will be a hideous green and brown for a bit, but it all works out. Over several months they will be blue and purple...then you will be cursing the existence of coralline algae.

Dust from sand and normal. You can block the powerhead with your hand ad that turbulence you create with backpressure should take it right off

Thank you guys with the input this is my second tank I’ve had but I got out of the hobby and starting it again I missed having a tank.
