I was looking for a recommendation for the circulation rate for powerheads

At a minimum I would suggest two Evolutions 750's, or two 1050's would be better. I have two of the Evo1400's in my 5 foot long 100G reef with 5-6" of very fine Southdown sand and have no problems at all. the nice thing about the Evolutions is they are controllable so in the future you could add a controller or even a couple cheap timers and switch them back and forth for random currents.
