I am looking to get a new Powerhead i had my eyes on the Vortech MP10 for a long time. Is there any other brands that do the same thing or close to it that are a little bit cheaper. Or what would you guys suggest thanks.

Ok. Do check Gyre or Jebao!! Different ends of the price spectrum!!

I use 2 Jebao SW-4 one on each side and they are sweet. Check them out.

I have the Jebao/Jecod. It is literally their cheaper version of the,MaxSpect Gyre. The IceKap is basically another name for,MaxSpect.

I have a mp10 and love it. So much customization and I truly believe you get what you pay for in this hobby. Flow is very important and I skimped on my circulation pumps in the beginning. It was a long expensive road to the mp10 and now I have it my corals seem to actually flourish, not just exist.

You won’t regret it. The build quality is fantastic. As soon as you open the box you will know what I’m talking about.

I have owned a MP 40 and two MP 10's all of which needed the bearings replaced on the dry side after about 3 years of use. Other than that they are great powerheads and you will really enjoy your MP 10.

Ecotech MP40's and MP10's are great pumps but be prepared to change the wet or dry sides after a couple of years. Customization is one cool feature though! I prefer the Tunzes for reliablity, but they are not considered cool. `

I sold both my MP10s and replaced them with the 1K from Ice Cap. The flow isn't even comparable in my tank. The 1K moves far more water.

The MP10s were certainly easier to clean and a much cleaner look in the tank but they weren't enough in my 50g cube. The 40s would have been better and I just would have had to turn them down. Ecotech did have to replace a wetside due to rusting so watch out for that. It isn't common but it's not super uncommon either.
