What is the best powerhead for a 6ft 125 gallon long fish only tank?
I have a Current USA Orbit Loop Light and there powerhead is almost $70. That’s seems pretty high to me for a powerhead, but I know nothing on price.

70 dollars for a powerhead for a tank that size isnt actually that bad. Keep in mind depended on what corals you're keeping your going to want anywhere from 2500 to 6000 gallons per hour (20 to 50 times tank turnover) with softies and some lps at the 20x and sps at the 50x

No corals, just fish.
Lol you did say that up top didn't you. My bad. Fish only tanks generally need 15 to 20 times turnover. So closer to the 1800 to 2500 gph range :)

For fish only I don’t think powerhead is necessary as long as you have a good return pump.

I disagree completely. All fish IMO need flow especially farting and fast moving fish such as tangs. I have used Current USA pumps and powerheads. I really did not like them and they broke on me after about a month. They also produce very direct flow and direct flow doesn’t work for tanks very well. They also do not move a large amount of water far. I had their biggest power head on a 3.5’ 60 Gallon tank and it was not very good flow and it just streamed across the top in one straight line. I would look into maxpect gyres or Vortech Mp40s. I would be prepared to spend about $150-$200 for a 6ft fish only tank on flow.

You want a lot of flow for a fish only tank because it gives them something to do.
