I have 2 korillas 425gph ,1 800gph and the 2 stock return pumps in my jbj 28 gallon reef tank. Is that too much flow? it's a mixed reef and so far I have a birdsnest coral, ricordea, few polyp frags and a branching hammer in there

For softies probably. My jbj had dual Mj1200 return pumps. I has a nano 240 koralia and a 420.. But judge it by eye not numbers.

it's not directly hitting anything.all the powerheads point at the front glass at different levels. I plan on adding more sps and wasn't sure if the 2 425s was enough flow for them

It probably is more than enough. Try not to let it get too laminar would be my concern.
