I have a 75 sps tank and was wondering if 2 tunze 6095 with a 7092 controller would be all i need. Its about 465$ for the bundle and alot cheaper than 2 mp40s. I just want to make sure i get something that is good and enough flow for my tank.

They're fantastic. Once you give them a go it will all make sense. The tunze controller isn't quite as flexible as the vortech eco smart controller, but if you run an apex the only limit to what they can do is your imagination. The quality is outstanding. The impeller shaft design and motor strength are such that you don't lose flow as they get dirty. Top end gear. While there are lemons occasionally in every single product (I'm sure there's even been a lemon Ferrari at some point), I've yet to meet someone who has regretted buying a tunze. I have run tanks with maxijets, hydor koralias, jebao WP series, and ecotech marine vortech mp40, and the line ends at tunze for me. My favorite of the bunch

Thats good news. Will the 7092 controller let me make a wave or random flow for my sps

You might check with @rvitko at Tunze to see his opinion too, but I think you might even want to consider the classic 6055's for their more-directional flow. Depends somewhat on the rockwork you plan and how much "open space" you can keep in the tank.

You might want to consider the 6040 as well...comes in at an interesting price point and does very interesting flow since it's mounted the way it is. I only have the 6020 so I can't speak about the controllable model directly, but I know I'm interested to try 6040's myself. I don't know how many to recommend for a 75 though, if you did want to try them. I'm guessing three tucked behind the rock structure....but maybe four. Roger would be the one I'd ask for a recommendation.

Last thoght, the Tunze 6045 is the slightly-weaker, non-controllable cousin to the 6055....and happens to be my favorite of their small pumps. In lieu of controllability, I put them on timers to create a 4 hour tide cycle. Their flow is reducible if you should want to place them closer to a coral or use them in a smaller tank, etc. I've grown some mad, mad SPS with both two and three 6045's in 40 and 50 gallon tanks. Four or five 6045's in a 75 gallon tank should kick crevice....and only costs $300-$400. Bonus for sacrificing controllability? AC pumps should last quite a bit longer than controllable pumps.

The tunze controller isn't quite as flexible as the vortech

How so?

I'm admittedly not as familiar with the new models of Vortech, but it seems like they have more presets, not more flexibility.

The Tunze is almost the opposite....it does have a few preset "modes", but everything within those modes are set in as much detail as I can imagine wanting. E.g. You want .7 seconds ramp instead of .6? You got it!
(I have the 7096 USB controller, fwiw.)

I'm curious!

I'll concede your comments on "presets" vs "flexibility". It makes more sense to put it that way. Some people really like the presets of the ES controller for the vortech but yes the tunze is more manually controllable it seems. You own it so you'll know better than me. I run mine with the apex like I said...but I only use it to run an alternating gyre motion every 2 minutes back and forth. No other funny stuff.

I'm loving my tunzes. I bought oversized on purpose for when I upgrade to a bigger tank. In the meantime I can turn the output down for the small tank. I was seriously considering a tunze controller before I got the apex and did a lot of research on the issue. I would recommend the 7096 for sure. The reason I went with tunze over ecotech is the fact that you can direct the flow of the tunze.

Having used both tunze and vortech I'll say that even with the wide attachment on the 6105, which is about equal to the output of the mp40 wet size, the tunze seems to push the water more whereas the vortechs are choppier and more turbulent. The vortechs seem to spit the water at a wider angle and a single mp40 kind of lacks the punch to get water moving even on just a 48" tank. Whereas a comparably sized and spec'd 6105 at 100% will dig a hole to the glass on the opposite end of the tank by kicking up sand. Tunze does some demonstrations of this phenomenon (flow vs turbulence) on their website using an empty tank and fluorescent dye. The vortech will spread the dye slowly and takes a lot longer to get it dispersed whereas the tunzes have it circulating to the opposite end much much quicker. I'll try to find the video

You can (also) just search YouTube for "flow vs turbulence".

Must watch the whole video.

Tunze pumps rock! They are so overlooked.
I use 2 Maxspect Gyres on my 300g tank. These puppies are powerful enough to make a full rotation across an 8 ft long tank. I actually had to turn it down because my softies at the bottom of the tank were closing up from the water flow. No complaints at all (in case you were considering other options).

I'm liking what I see with the Gyres, I may try them on my 220 when I get on with that build. In the meantime, I am very very pleased with my tunzes
