Tank is set up just over 3 weeks now FOWLR right now. I am using two 520gph power heads and have them on timers alternating. They run together for 1 hour in the AM 1 hour in the PM and then for the other 22 hours only one is on. Should they run together all the time. Or just stick with what I’m doing. Any advice would be great thanks!!!

How big and what are the dimensions of the tank?

How does your flow schedule correlate to your lighting schedule?

Are they running for, say, an hour each, or does one pulse for a few seconds then the other?

Flow is not unimportant, but it is less critical in tanks that don't contain corals. Personally, I would aim to have enough water movement so that detritus remains suspended in the water column until it can make its way down your overflow.

Haha, I completely missed the fish only part...

Yeah, @JamesWeaver , no need to over complicate it. I second what chipmonkofdoom2 says!
