Will my 2 mp 10s be enough flow for the sps in my deep blue 80 gal tank or should I buy another mp 40. They look okay but will the more flow make them look better. I don’t feel like I havnt saw any growth.

It depends on the xyz of the system more than just the water volume...

There is a good tool ecotech have on their website that will calculate the flow needed per your tank dimentions.

SPS like flow. At 100%, your current pumps would do about 30 times turnover. But eco tech pumps run a bit hot at 100% so I run backed off some. Plus, you should set them to fluctuate and that knocks things down more. So you might have a 20 turnover and that is a bit low for SPS in my not expert opinion.

An mp 40 will kick you up to a 40 times or just a bit higher.

I have a 300 gallon with four mp 40 s so I have about 40 or 50. I have had corals that I had to move because off too much flow (right near the powerheads) but most seem to like it.

If you have fine sand, high flow can blow it around. Adding some coarse sand will stabilize things.

By the way, world wide corals runs 100 fold flow. And I have seen Battlecorals set up on video and his flow looks even higher.

I had concerns about how slow moving fish would fare. My pokey Bengai cardinals never had any problem. I have seen fish come right up to the powerhead and surf the flow.

As for making a huge change in your SPS, I doubt it. I think it takes fiddling around awhile with light, flow, nutrients, husbandry and so on until you hit the sweet spot.
